RactiveJS is a template-driven UI library that has many of the same benefits of Angular, Ember, Backbone, but without all the complexity. The team theguardian.com created it to produce news applications.
I used RactiveJs when building a new interactive feature for my start-up call Vistr. We were pressed for time and needed something that would work with the existing server side rendering solution. Our site had lots of jQuery, but we knew that jQuery wouldn't be able to hand the interactivity we required.
How did we use it?
What should you use it?
- You have an existing solution. RactiveJs doesn't mean giving up other libraries or stop using simple jQuery Ajax requests.
Finally, I must confess to spending more time learning AngularJS. It has some more advanced functionality that RactiveJs doesn't have (or doesnt't need).
But for Vistr we are still using RactiveJs as it the right tool for the right job.
